In 2002, approximately 43 Brownwood Lake area merchants and residents met to form an organization that would make the Lake more appealing for businesses and tourists, as well as for residents. Our goal is to make Lake Brownwood a vacation destination and to create a nicer place to live and encourage seniors to retire around the Lake. With this objective, the Lake Brownwood Community Development Council was formed to provide, maintain and support an association for the purpose of advancing the community of Lake Brownwood,Texas . Bylaws were adopted and officers elected along with a six member Board of Directors. LBCDC is a 501 (c) 6 non-profit organization. The mission is to advance the community and economic development of the Lake Brownwood community and its trade territory, by promoting the general trade and commercial interest, tourism, commercial and business developments, and improve the standards of living and income of the people of the area.
